4 out of 5 stars Great 1st road bike   August 23, 2010

Bought this bike to go in my 1st triathlon..it did not disappoint me. Even though the triathlon was not an official one...I rode for the first time on this bike the day of the triathlon ,it was comfortable, I only shifted between 3 gears ..the ride was smooth. I look forward to more smooth rides. Also, my husband put the bike together & had no problems.

3 out of 5 stars Decent at best bike   July 20, 2010

The GMC Denali is a decent at best starter bike. My family also has the men's version of this bike and both bikes use almost the exact same components. However, if I were to do it again, I would not have purchased the women's bike. When i bought the bike, it was $200, now there is a price drop to $174 and amazon will not give me a price match. In addition, the front inter tube came punctured. I believe the bike should be accurately be labeled a hybrid bike as oppose to a road bike. The frame is rather heavy, the tires are wider then that of a traditional road bike, the gears are like that of a mountain bike, and it also has grip shifters. From a distance the bike does look attractive. While some people may complain that this bike won't last long, i believe that this bike will make a decent starter bike to cruise around for a few hundred miles in.

4 out of 5 stars Great beginner bike   June 8, 2010

I originally bought this bike for a sprint triathlon I'm competing in at the end of July...Looking for a less expensive bike to get started in case I don't keep up with triathlons in the future...However, after training on this bike, I'm really starting to enjoy it! Some advice: Take it to a bike shop and have them put it together for you..This will save you sooo much time and headache if you are inexperienced in bike assembly...My bike shop is great Had it put together and tuned up in less than an hour! Also, the gear shifts are too high on the handlebars Not near the brakes where a road bike's gears would normally be. Remember this bike is what it is: a beginner's road bike...Don't expect the performance of a much more expensive bike out of this one

4 out of 5 stars Good bike for the money   May 5, 2010

I bought this bike to replace a more expensive one which was stolen, and because I am entering my first sprint triathlon this summer. Its a good bike, was realively easy to assemble with a few allen wrenches and an ajustable wrench, took me about 30 minutes. The gears are relatively smooth, skipped a bit at first, but that's probably normal on a new bike. All in all, good value.

3 out of 5 stars Great for the average road biker   January 30, 2010

I use it for 12=15 mph rides on good country roads. Shifting is easy and even though the brakes are not top of the line, they work very well. I had it tuned up after I assembled it, to make sure I got the most out of this quality of bike parts. The shocks work well for a smooth ride, and the stock seat is not bad at all. I would recomend this bike to anyone that is not training for a real race.
